...is in the city of Limerick. We ate breakfast at the local mall, and headed over to the castle afterwards. The castle was impressive, though the exhibits were a bit lame. We went into two of the towers with their winding stairs (one tower had a modern spiral staircase, the other tower had the original crap-I'm-going-to-fall stone stairs. There was a great view from the second tower of the surrounding town, river and bridges.
The castle was built in the 1100's. The monarch its named for actually visited but two or three times, and is the same King John of Disney's talking animal version of Robin Hood, who, by all accounts, was a horrible king.
