Wherein most of the Wedding Party are Overcome with a Dread Contagion

I didn't think that much would be required of me on the wedding day. I had my tux, had the ring, and a car to get me to the wedding. But at 6:15 my phone beeps, letting me know I have a text message: "I'm not feeling well." We had planned to go to church at 8AM, so I drove back to our apartment.

Jen was in bed, looking miserable. She had diarrhea, and her bridesmaid Bethany was vomiting non-stop. We made a list of things that had to get done before the ceremony, and away I went. It was a whirlwind of activity, brought up short when I was told that Josiah, my best man, was ill as well. I went to my parents' to pick up Scott, only to have him vomit in the kitchen sink while I was talking to him. Man.

I ran around like a decapitated chicken, trying to orchestrate the day and getting the tiny details that only existed in Jen's head correct. Philip and Lindsey got the alcohol to the reception, and Andrew and Jen's dad got the electric and audio working for the ceremony. It's hard for me to recall all that happened, maybe Jen will be a bit more coherent.
Bethany and I started 'preparing' for the wedding at 4 am and we kept vigil in the bathroom for the rest of the morning. Julie was dispatched to procure an arsenal of drugs and we warned Amber to stay clear of the apartment and to meet us, healthy, at the venue.

Meanwhile John comes over and starts snapping a slew of pictures - "just documentary shots!" - which I'm sure are somewhere on this page because that's how he shows love. =) From the bed I dictated a must-do list for John to accomplish and I turned all the last minute details into his capable hands.

Somehow, time went on and we headed to Lauxmont in the early afternoon to try to get ready. We hoped the bride's room would be air-conditioned. It wasn't. And it was on the third floor.

But still we slowly did hair, makeup, and when I couldn't hold off any longer I put on my dress, praying that once I was clad in a very white dress I would feel fine.

Then down the stairs for a few pictures and off to be married!
